Lan Nguyen – Managing Director BSc (Baku) MSc - Geology (New England University) Lan was appointed MD/CEO of Mosaic in March 2005 after joining the company in January 1994. He was appointed to the Board and the Deputy CEO position since February 2001 and became Chief Operating Officer in October 2004. Lan's initial geological training was in Russia with added experience in the Vietnamese oil industry and later a Master's Degree researching oil exploration in southeast Queensland. A member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia, and a fellow of the Geological Society of London, Lan is credited with the development of the large stratigraphic trap concept in the Tinowon Sandstone that applies to Churchie, Myall Creek and Waggamba. Lan’s introduction of new technologies to Australia - such as nitrogen drilling and underbalanced horizontal coiled tubing drilling – opened new avenues of exploration for Mosaic. Lan has purchased 1,888,300 fully paid shares and 180,000 May 2009 options, and holds 3,300,000 ctg shares as part of the Company Employee Scheme. |
